About Us

Tamara - Yoga Teacher & Yoga for Back Care Therapist, One-on-One & Group Sound Therapy

My passion for movement has taken me on a challenging yet rewarding journey over the past 15 years.

We all know the physical benefits of yoga are myriad, but for me the journey has also been one of huge emotional and spiritual transformation.

From being an inspired Yoga student, feeling that there was always more to discover; to finding that my love of yoga would ultimately outweigh my fears and allow me to open up and find my self-worth; to finally walking my own path, leading me to Waves of Bliss, giving me a voice to share what I love.

There was a paradigm shift in discovering Kriya Yoga in 2005 and realising how to move forward. I enrolled in a Yoga teacher course in Sydney. However, in 2006 the search for a deeper spiritual connection took me to India, where I completed my first Yoga Teacher training.

Over the next few years I made more trips to India and SE Asia, completing three more teacher trainings and gaining extensive experience in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa flow Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama and meditation.

But something was still missing: despite all my progress I still did not have a true functional understanding of the body. This crucial realisation caused me to embark on a concurrent journey to advance my learning of how the body moves.

So, whilst I was teaching, I was also studying. I completed courses in Practical Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga; Anatomy Trains in Motion; Myofascial release; Thai yoga massage; and TRE (trauma releasing exercises).

Then in 2017, when I completed my Post-graduate diploma in Yoga for Back Care with the IYTA and also a Somatic Movement education course, I felt that I had found the final practical tools to truly help my students.

Each form of Yoga i had learnt had imparted something special to me, but the ultimate lesson was realising that no one system provides all the answers. I now have over 1500 hours of Yoga, anatomy and therapeutic training and this has enabled me to develop my own unique methodology.

My objective has become helping people understand their bodies: to deal better with pain and injuries, to help them to recognise and correct their dysfunctional movement patterns, to re-discover natural ways of moving and to ultimately feel more balanced and aligned.

Integrated with my new-found passion for Sound Healing Therapy (which brings its own unique benefits), I invite you to: come along, relax and unwind, clear your mind, open your heart and let correct movement and sound healing transform your life!

“To be a great teacher, one must learn to be a great student first. My most powerful teachers have been my students and I am forever grateful for their love of yoga, as that has been my constant inspiration to become a better teacher.” ~ Tamara

Sean - Group Sound Therapy, Singing Bowl training & workshops

Sean has had a lifelong interest in sound, art and music.

From his earliest memories he was surrounded by music, buying his first records at age 7. His father worked during his early childhood as a professional singer.

A country upbringing installed a love of nature and particularly the ambient sounds of the bush: morning birdsong, the summer drone of cicadas and grasshoppers, rainfall on corrugated rooftops, the lilting calls of crickets in the evening.

A move to Sydney in adulthood brought training in Film production, Photography and Audio engineering; whilst later travel to Europe and Asia opened the door to experience the life and music of many cultures, as well as creating opportunities to complete a Vinyasa Yoga teacher training in Mysore in 2011 and a Thai yoga massage course in 2012.

He first encountered singing bowls in the early 2000's, but became seriously intrigued by their sound and unique healing properties in 2019, after completing a course in Integral Sound Healing. He has been studying and collecting them ever since and now has a collection spanning several octaves.

Sean would love to share his passion for Himalayan singing bowls with you through the regular Sound Baths he runs with Tamara, and also is available for Singing bowl workshops and one-on-one training.
